My first Visit To The Doctor When Pregnant

I did a pregnancy test at home when I got pregnant. My husband and I were the first people to know that I am pregnant. I had some personal hint that I am pregnant because of my delayed menstrual period.
I was advised by my friends who already have children to do a home pregnancy test first using a pregnancy kit that are available over-the-counter in any drug store. A home pregnancy kit is cheaper than going to the doctor to have a pregnancy test in the hospital. By the way, the test is more effective if you do it early in the morning. So, as early as 6 am that time, I had a pregnancy test and violah! Pregnancy stick says two stripes. It means I was pregnant.
My first visit to my Obstetrician was awkward. My doctor did a transvaginal ultrasound to confirm that I am pregnant aside from the pregnancy stick I showed her. The ultrasound will detect the gestational sac and uterine thickening.
If it is your first visit to your OB, make sure to recall your last day of menstruation and bring along the pregnancy stick to show her that you already preformed a home pregnancy test. It will save you from a urine test again in the clinic or hospital to check if you are pregnant.
